Adding a Video to Spectra Free
To add a video to your Spectra Free site, you’ll first need to upload it to Vimeo or YouTube. We recommend Vimeo as it offers more control over the look and feel.
Vimeo Embed Code
1. Create a free account (if you don’t already have one), then upload your video.
2. Go to the video page and click on the Share button in the middle right.
3. In the the Share modal, click on Show options
4. Under the video thumbnail, you can make adjustments to the video size and display. We recommend the following:
- Size = Responsive
- Intro = Uncheck Portrait, Title and Byline
- Special Stuff:
- You can check the boxes for autoplay and/or loop if you wish
- Uncheck show text link and show video description
Once done, copy and Embed code (highlighted in blue in the example) and follow the instructions to add the video in WordPress below.
YouTube Embed Code
1. Create a free account (if you don’t already have one), then upload your video.
2. Go to the video page and click on the Share button in the middle right.
3. From the Share modal, select the Embed option
4. Copy and Embed code (highlighted in blue in the example) and follow the instructions to add the video in WordPress below.
Adding the Video to WordPress
1. Add a text block to the page where you want to video by clicking on Add Content Block and selecting Text Block. Drag the block where you want to on the page
2. In the Text Block Content section, click on Text view
3. Paste your embed code
4. If you want the video to be full width add the following class to the Custom CSS Class field:
full-content
5. Publish/update the page to see the video.
